Birthday Freebies – Drunk Elephant

Good evening everyone! It’s been quite the week – I hope yours went well. For tonight, I thought I would share a little free gift that I received from Sephora for my birthday. If you sign up with the website and make an account, you’re eligible to receive a birthday gift every single year. It’s a great way to test out new products and see what you like! For 2019, Sephora is offering their Beauty Insiders the choice between a Kat Von D sample set of three shades of her Studded Kiss lipstick, a powder, a Tattoo liquid eyeliner and Drunk Elephant’s sample sizes of their Protini Polypeptide Cream and Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. I decided to get the Drunk Elephant gift because I am obsessed with their products and it was a perfect way for me to test out some of their other items that I had never tried prior.

The packaging for the box was adorable! I loved the bright colors, especially the neon pink. The added touch of the birthday note on the top of the box was also a very nice touch to make the product stand out, since I have never seen another brand do this on their birthday gift sets.

Getting into the first product you see when opening up the box, we have Drunk Elephant’s Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. I wasn’t sure at first if I would like this product since I was nervous about the texture, but I do love this item. It foams up very easily in the palms of your hands when you mix it with water and is very gentle on the skin. This product is also recommended for use if you’d want to take your makeup off after wearing it all day. Another big plus for me is that it has no scent. I’ve been using this for a little bit now, so I can’t exactly tell you if it has improved my skin, but it does make it feel baby soft after I rise my face with it. Once again, the bright coloring of the orange against the white on this product is very aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion.

Protini Polypetide Cream is pure magic; this moisturizer skins into my skin quickly and does not leave behind a weird residue on my face, which some creams have done in the past. I have noticed that it has improved the texture of my skin – I had some stubborn bumps above my eyebrow and with using this for the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that those bumps are almost gone. This product has also made my skin feel rejuvenated and look more healthy. After applying this, my skin looks glowy and fresh. I’m on the fence about purchasing the full size of this product since it is so expensive (it’s $68 USD 😬), however I feel as though I may end up buying it once I run out of this sample since it has improved my skin greatly.

Do you receive any birthday freebies that you’ve enjoyed getting this year? Let me know in the comments below! I hope you all have a great week and I’ll talk to you soon. 🧡💙
