My Current Favorite Facial Cleanser and Scrub

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope your week went well and that your weekend is going even better. Today, I’m back and will be sharing my two favorite facial cleansers at the moment. I tend to switch between facial cleansers and scrubs pretty frequently because my skin gets used to the product if I overuse it, but these two have stood out to me for reasons I will be discussing later on. The two products I will be discussing are Lush’s Ocean Salt and First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser.

The two products – Lush’s Ocean Salt & First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser

Ocean Salt is by far one of my favorite products from Lush – and that’s saying a lot because I have grown to love this brand immensely over the past couple of years! I never have enough self-control to walk into any of their stores without coming out with a bag full of products. A big bonus for me is that this product is not tested on animals and the self-preserving version is vegan. This is a body and face scrub, so it’s multi-functional, which is always great! The main reason why I love this product is because my face feels smooth right after rising it off. The product itself also smells amazing – it feels as though you’re on vacation when the scent hits your nose! It has a mix of fine and coarse sea salt for serious exfoliation, lime and lime oil, coconut oil and avocado butter to soften the skin, as well as many other beneficial and natural ingredients. I use Ocean Salt on days where my skin looks dull and it helps to perk it right back up! When you first purchase the product, the salt is at the top and you get the chance to mix everything together, which is a pretty awesome aspect of this scrub. Once mixed, it turns into a beautiful teal color! I love using this product because I get to feel the salt against my skin, so it really feels as though the product is working its magic. I would recommend to use this once or twice a week and not everyday. If you have sensitive skin, I would point your attention to the self-preserving version of Ocean Salt since it’s formulated to be a more “gentle” exfoliator! I typically use this product by itself or after the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser to make sure my face is squeaky clean. It’s considered to be one of Lush’s best sellers, and I know why after using it!

First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser is great for all skin types – especially those with sensitive skin! It’s an extremely gentle cleanser and is fragrance free. It’s great at removing makeup and any kind of dirt and grime that you have on your face, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and soft. I’ve included a picture of the texture – it’s unique since the product has a sheen to it and it’s whipped. When you rub it into your skin, the whipped texture of the cleanser turns creamy when mixed with water, which is a pretty cool experience! My skin always looks radiant and glowy after rinsing this off. I love using this cleanser especially at night to take off everything that my skin has accumulated on it during the day, as well as my makeup. Although I love scents, I do really enjoy that this product doesn’t have one. Some facial cleansers that I have used in the past have a very strong perfume-y scent, which have proven to be too overpowering to my nose when washing my face. Some of the key ingredients in this product are aloe and allantoin, which help to calm and soothe the skin, glycerin, which is a natural humectant that helps hydrate and improve the skin’s appearance, as well as FAB’s own antioxidant booster! It doesn’t make my skin red after washing, which is great because some of face washes I have used in the past have caused my skin to be dry and red – not this gem, though! I love that this cleanser is free of any bad chemicals, so you can feel confident that this wash won’t hurt your skin! All in all, this has been one of the best cleansers I have used in quite a while.
